From staff reports

A two-vehicle traffic crash Wednesday evening resulted in the death of a Beverly man.

Dale G. Mincks, 53, of 211 Sixth St., Beverly was traveling southbound on Ohio 60 in his 2000 Buick Century when he crossed the center line near mile marker 11 at approximately 5:38 p.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Mincks struck a northbound 2013 Ford Edge driven by Alicia M. Fogle, 29, of Marietta, head-on. Fogle and two other occupants of her vehicle were wearing their safety belts, while Mincks was not.

Fogle and one of her passengers received injuries in the accident and were transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital. Mincks was also transported, but was later pronounced dead. Fogle was treated and released from the hospital but the condition of her passenger is unknown.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a statement that alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the wreck that is still under investigation.

This is the second fatal car crash in Washington County in the last several weeks. The first occurred on Jan. 30 when Elizabeth Tucker, 31, of 248 Pennsylvania Ave., Marietta, died after hitting a vehicle head-on when crossing the center line on Ohio 821 near DAV Road.

Lt. Chris Chesar of the Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Tucker’s accident is also still under investigation until a toxicology report on her blood is finished. Chesar said the report could take several months to complete.
