Kitchen Bazaar to benefit Live Healthy Appalachia
ATHENS — Live Healthy Appalachia (LHA) is presenting its first Kitchen Bazaar from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at The Plains United Methodist Church. Proceeds from this inaugural benefit event will directly support LHA’s health and wellness programs for the community.
“We know that for people to start making healthy choices in the kitchen, they need to get excited about cooking, and we hope this event will do just that,” said Sherri Oliver, executive director. “It gives people an opportunity to clear out their kitchens in the New Year and get rid of things that they might not have a use for anymore.”
This sale not only aims to encourage the community to think about healthy eating and cooking. It is also economical. “The Bazaar will provide an opportunity to purchase kitchen items (many gently-used or new) at a low cost.”
The Kitchen Bazaar will sell kitchen items donated to LHA. These tax-deductible items range from gently-used dinnerware or blenders to new salad bowls and wine glasses. Kitchen items which are in fairly good working condition will be accepted until Jan. 20. These items can be dropped off at the LHA office at 145 Columbus Road, rear entrance.
Live Healthy Appalachia (LHA) is a nonprofit whose mission is to promote healthy eating and active living through educational programs and community partnerships.
