Two dead in separate crashes

PARKERSBURG — A Washington County man died Thursday after a wrong-way collision outside Parkersburg. Ishmael Smith, 84, of Little Hocking, was found dead at the scene of the crash around 2:47 p.m. Thursday at mile marker 6 in the eastbound lanes of Robert C. Sewer blockage problem in Devola

DEVOLA — Washington County is trying to find a partial sewer blockage that has cost the county $30,000 so far. “We started seeing a high flow alarm a few weeks ago and that’s not normal,” said Washington County Engineer Roger Wright. The alarm indicated a high level in the wet well in the Devola pump station.
