PARKERSBURG - More local schools have announced their plans for the solar eclipse Monday. Parkersburg Catholic High School Principal Mike DeRose said the school plans on an early release at 11:45 a.m. “This is one of those opportunities where they should be with their families and we understand that,” he said. WSCO to hold eclipse viewing party

A solar eclipse viewing party will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. Monday at Washington State College of Ohio. The event will be led by Dean Hirschi, the college’s astronomy expert and instructor, who will explain the celestial event and show participants what to look for and how to safely view the eclipse.
