URA approves purchase of lot for new McHappy’s

By Kristen Hainkel Staff Reporter PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Urban Renewal Authority voted 7-0 to accept an application from Wayne Waldeck and Wal-Bon Inc. to purchase a 12,750-square-foot lot at 19th Street and St. Marys Avenue for $25,600. The Washington County Commission voted 2-1 on Thursday to move $1,500,000 into a separate item line for development in anticipation of a loan proposal by The Southeastern Ohio Port Authority (SeOPA) to redevelop the former AMP-Ohio Gorsuch site into a road, river, and rail-served port facility. “The relationship and support of our SeOPA has proven that the collaboration to improve development standards is a constant in our minds. Wood BOE enters into purchase agreement

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education voted 5-0 to authorize the board president and superintendent to enter into a purchase agreement of the real estate for the new Lubeck Elementary School during a special meeting Thursday. “We’re finally here,” Board President Justin Raber said. “This is a huge movement for us in moving this bond forward.
