Wood County BOE hears update on reduction in force

PARKERSBURG - Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources John Merritt spoke to the Wood County Board of Education Tuesday night about the upcoming reduction in force the district is facing due to the loss of COVID funding. He said the school district is undergoing an unprecedented workforce realignment process for the 2024-2025 school year due to funding constraints and shrinking student population. OCC, council look at Dominion rate increase

During their Monday night committee meeting, the Marietta City Council Water and Sewer Committee discussed a possible Dominion Energy rate increase with the Ohio Consumers Counsel. The OCC is an independent residential utility consumer advocacy group out of Columbus that is currently analyzing and collecting evidence from Dominion Energy’s rate increase proposal to take to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to say that the price hike is too high for consumers.
