• Joseph Dean Everson, 19, of 1900 Big Run Road, Beverly, was southbound on Washington County 109 in Watertown Township Aug. 26 when his 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck crossed the center line while negotiating a curve, went off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned. Unsafe speed was a contributing factor, the patrol report noted. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle without being in reasonable control. NEW YORK (AP) — A lawyer for the family of a Marine killed in Afghanistan said Thursday that a new version of a lawsuit accusing actor Alec Baldwin of unleashing his social media followers against them will soon be filed after a federal judge dismissed the original lawsuit but invited the family to rewrite it and submit it again. Officers fatally shoot armed man during standoff, North Little Rock police say

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — North Little Rock police shot and killed an armed man who barricaded himself inside a post office on Friday during a standoff that prompted a lockdown at a nearby high school. Police did not identify the man, who they said was under investigation for shooting at a bail bondsman earlier this week and was wanted on outstanding warrants.
