3 Chemours workers taken to hospital after potential exposure

WASHINGTON W.Va. — Three people were transported to a local hospital and then taken to a Pittsburgh hospital for further evaluation following a Thursday incident at Chemours’ Washington Works site. According to a statement from the company, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Thursday three Chemours employees performing routine maintenance procedures may have been exposed to PFIB (perfluoroisobutene), a byproduct chemical created as part of the company’s manufacturing process.
