Staff Report The Mid-Ohio Valley Players WMOVP Radio Theatre returns to cyberspace with a Thanksgiving episode of “Fathers Knows Best” at 8 p.m. today on Zoom. WMOVP Radio Theatre was created early in the pandemic when live theater was closed to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. BELPRE — A positive COVID-19 case and a probable case per CDC guidelines were confirmed at Belpre Elementary School amongst non-teaching staff Wednesday in a press release on the Belpre City Schools website. According to the release from Belpre Elementary Principal Lauren Keeling, contact tracing has been worked by Marietta-Belpre Health Department, resulting in two staff members and 41 students quarantined from the building. Belpre municipal buildings closed

Belpre municipal buildings, including the city building and Senior Center, will be closed to the public starting today as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19. “It just seemed like the thing to do right now until we get a grip on these cases,” Mayor Mike Lorentz said. Limited access will be available today for flu shots provided by the Marietta-Belpre Health Department, he said. People can also get water service turned on and off in the lobby. Coronavirus closes after school care; state restrictions increase

Ely Chapman Education Foundation in Marietta has suspended its supplemental education programs (before, during and after school) until at least after Thanksgiving. “Effective Nov. 16, all day and afterschool programs are suspended.
