The Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington County has named Kristin “Kris” Matheny as unit director of the Beverly/Waterford Site.

“I believe Kristin is a great fit for our organization. What she believes in is exactly what we are looking for in a Club Director. She understands the community and is ready to step in and fulfill this crucial community need,” said Charles “Charlie” Kittle, Director of Operations at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington County.

Matheny holds an Associate of Applied Science in Social Service Technology and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Phoenix. Her education and professional training reflect a strong commitment to serving youth and families in the community.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kristin to our team in Washington County,” said Chief Executive Officer Justin Clark. “I am confident that her experience and passion are going to position the Club in Beverly/Waterford to serve more kids, more often, and am grateful for her willingness to step into this critical role.”

A graduate of Fort Frye High School (Class of 2000) and resident of Lowell, Matheny has deep roots in the Washington County area. She is a mother of eight, several of whom attend schools in the district, and remains active in local volunteer work.

In her new leadership role, she plans to promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and a safe, supportive environment where youth can thrive. Her approach focuses on mentorship, teamwork, and creating meaningful opportunities that inspire growth, leadership, and a sense of belonging for every member.

“This opportunity means a lot to me because the community has always been there for me and my family, and I’m eager to return that support through my work,” Matheny said.

Matheny also values accountability, trust, and empowerment, striving to maintain a positive environment that encourages collaboration and meaningful change when needed.
