BEVERLY — Whatever the weather this weekend, the cold shouldn’t bother audiences anyway as the Fort Frye High School Music Department presents “Disney’s Frozen: The Broadway Musical.”

Based on the original movie “Frozen,” this expanded stage adaptation brings the kingdom of Arendelle to life.

The musical follows sisters Elsa and Anna as they navigate the challenges of family, responsibility and Elsa’s mysterious magical powers. Along the way, audiences will meet memorable characters like the lovable snowman Olaf, the determined Kristoff and the charming Hans.

The production includes favorite songs from the film like “Let It Go,” along with music written specifically for the stage version.

According to a release announcing the show, the stage production offers a different experience from the movie, with energetic choreography, creative staging, impressive costumes and the talent of Fort Frye’s student performers transforming the familiar story into a lively theatrical experience for the whole family.

Performances began Friday and will continue at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Fort Frye High School Auditorium, 420 Fifth St., Beverly. Doors will open 45 minutes before each performance.

Tickets will be available at the door and are $10 for adults and $7 for students and youth.

The production is directed by Tyler Hartline, Ashley Schultheis and Katie Schaad.

Starting at $2.99/week.
