West Virginia House candidate Beanard facing domestic battery charge

PARKERSBURG – A candidate for the House of Delegates is set for a hearing on a charge of domestic battery involving his father later this month. Justin Matthew Beanard, 137 Onward Road, Williamstown, is running for the House of Delegates seat for District 10. He was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court in February. Four local graduates receive Appalachian Ohio scholarships

MARIETTA – Four Washington County students are among more than 330 students receiving postsecondary scholarships from the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and its affiliate foundation partners. The foundation awarded more than $870,000 through over 670 donor-established scholarships to students in 25 counties across Appalachian Ohio. Wood County sheriff talks assessor fund, procedural issues

PARKERSBURG – Wood County Sheriff Rick Woodyard recently addressed county commissioners about the way the budget is calculated for an assessor’s office fund that had an estimated $357,000 shortfall. A letter provided by Woodyard to commissioners says more information is needed to determine the source of the error. The sheriff also discussed money labeled as recorded in “incorrect accounting categories” within his department’s tax office.
