Applications are now being accepted for Head Start

Washington-Morgan Community Action is accepting application for their Head Start program for 2018-2019 school year. Head Start, a federally funded free preschool program, is a comprehensive development program that focuses on education, nutrition, health, and social development of young children. Children who enroll in Head Start receive high quality educational instruction in social emotional, math, science, language, reading, and writing skills. Head Start children also learn skills to develop self-confidence, independence, and social competence. Head Start recognizes that all children learn differently and at different rates. The individual instruction provided to children allows each child to grow and learn at his/her own pace. Children with special needs, including those with significant disabilities, are encouraged to apply.

Head Start offers 7 hour, 6 hour, and half-day sessions, located in Malta, Marietta, Belpre, and New Matamoras. Head Start services may also be provided in your home through our Home Base program. Home Base services are provided through a weekly visit that last for 1 1/2 hours. Families who are interested in either program option call 740-373-3745 or 740-962-3792 with any questions; or visit our website at www.wmcap.org
