Lions Club setting up Flags for Heroes on Saturday

The Williamstown Lions Club will be setting up Flags for Heroes on Saturday with a noon dedication ceremony at Tomlinson Park where all the names of heroes will be read. Flags will be flown until July 11. Also scheduled is the annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast that will feature caricature artist J.D. Williamson to do caricatures from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Breakfast is by donation and is open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Conservation District slates free program

The Washington Soil & Water Conservation District and the Ohio River Valley Woodland Owner Group will present "Maximizing Native Habitat for Game Species" starting with dinner at 5:30 p.m. July 9 at the Washington County Career Center, 21740 State Route 676, Marietta. The program begins at 6 p.m. and will cover topics including deer browse/bedding, white oak management and invasive species. The event is free and open to the public.
