Children belong to God

Since the birth of the first of our five grandchildren, I’ve kept journals for them. Written as an ongoing conversation, they document achievements along with encouragement and hope. Among the pages are school programs, notes to Gram, some art pages, little mementos that the girls have likely forgotten about, but may one day become found treasure. Easter Sunrise Service at the levee

Easter Sunrise Service will be 6:30 a.m. at the Ohio River Levee, sponsored by Christ United Methodist Church. The service will include Holy communion, a short message by Marietta High School senior Meredith Coil, and music by members of the Marietta Ukulele Choir. All are invited. Saturday Easter egg hunt, games, and fun activities for kids will begin at 2 p.m., March 31, at Newport Baptist Church. Tunnel United Methodist Church hosting an Easter Egg Hunt, 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, in Warren Township’s Inman-Liberty Park. There will be four age groups, from toddlers to sixth-graders. Refreshments and activities will follow in Tunnel’s multi-purpose building (where the egg hunt will be held if the weather is bad). Thoughts of Faith: A troubling subject

The subject of interfaith is troubling. As this movement grows, born-again believers in Jesus Christ realize that the interfaith movement puts genuine Christianity on shaky ground due to this movement’s accommodating acceptance of religious differences, thereby, creating a mindset of “no one is wrong.” Although interfaith gatherings are held to increase understanding and respect for all religions, as well as to provide sensitivity toward each other’s beliefs, such dialogue leads many to believe they can be instrumental in an up-and-coming religious solidarity, when in truth, ...
