Vernon L. “Tuck” Howell
Vernon L. “Tuck” Howell, 80, of Graysville, Ohio, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at his home.
He was near Rinard Mills, Ohio, on Sept. 23, 1936, a son of the late Clifford and Martha Jones Howell.
Vernon was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield, Ohio; a retired farmer and timber man; and a partner with his two sons in Howell’s Oil & Gas company. He loved to coon hunt and spend time with his many grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sylvia Jean Steinhoff and Wanda Holland.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Betty A. Wallace Howell; one daughter, Bonnie “Sue” (Mike) Mullenix of Rinard Mills, Ohio; two sons, Michael L. Howell of Rinard Mills, Ohio, and Clifford L. (Patty) Howell of Graysville, Ohio; one brother, Donald (Shirley) Howell of Rinard Mills, Ohio; a daughter in law, Donna Howell of Rinard Mills, Ohio; two sisters, Wilma Holland of Canton, Ohio, and Connie Kanz of Mansfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Chrissie (Daniel) Hayes, Brandon (Amy) Mullenix, Mike V. (Heather) Howell, Carrie Bunner, Tracy (Keith) Knowlton, Alicia (Bob) Hinson and Ryan (Lynnie) Howell; 19 great grandchildren, Clay, Brock, Kryssa and Shaeli Hayes, Cole and Alli Mullenix, Gage (Brittany) Howell, Ashley (Brandon) Miller, Kameron and Gabby Howell, Carson and Emma Hinson, Walker Howell, Sarah, Emily and Shane Moore, Hunter Knowlton, Kevin and Kyli Bunner; and one great-great grandson, Raiden Howell.
Friends will be recieved at Watters Funeral Home, 37501 State Route 78 West, Woodsfield, Ohio, from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2017, with Danny Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, Wingett Run, Ohio.
