William “Bill” Joseph Corry, 78, of Pinehurst, NC, passed away peacefully at home on October 4th, 2025. Bill was born in Marietta, Ohio on July 31st, 1947, to Joseph Moses Corry and Gladys (Bower) Corry. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He shared nearly sixty years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary (Atkinson) Corry — a partnership marked by deep love, unwavering support, and enduring commitment.

Bill was the proud father of three children: Jeffrey Alan Corry (Shawn), John William Corry (Kristina), and Jill Ellen Suranie (Derek). He found immense joy in his role as “Papa Bill” to Austin, Brock, Ciara, Sam, Beth, and Emma — each of whom brought him pride, laughter, and light. Bill is survived by his four siblings: Mary Elizabeth Connelly (James), Michael Corry (Connie), Helen Blouir (Chuck) and Lisa Taylor (Bob).

Those who knew Bill will remember him as a loyal friend and colleague. He had a deep love for the game of golf and spent many joyful hours on the course with friends at Marietta Country Club, and later at Pinehurst Country Club. He often proudly shared that one year, when he played over 310 rounds of golf. Bill surrounded himself with some great golf buddies who became lifelong friends. Anyone who knew Bill around Pinehurst knew he was quite the character. His passion for the game was something he also loved to share with his family.

Bill’s love of sports extended beyond the fairway. It inspired his career in the sporting goods industry, where he worked closely with high schools and colleges to ensure athletes had the best equipment to safely enjoy the sports they loved. His work was more than a job — it was a way to give back to the community and support young athletes in pursuing their dreams.

He approached life with quiet dignity, a strong work ethic, and a deep, enduring love for his family, who were always at the center of his world.

Bill will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A mass and celebration of life will be planned for a date to be determined in the near future.
