Laurie Lynn (Trout) Schneider

Laurie Lynn (Trout) Schneider passed away on the evening of February 25, 2026. She was born March 4, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Richard Lytle Trout and Francis Jean (Rodgers) Trout. Laurie grew up in the Clintonville area and graduated from Whetstone High School.

Laurie worked in various restaurants during her adult life in Columbus, Oberlin, and Marietta. However, her most passionate vocation was on the maintenance crew tending to the golf course at the Marietta Country Club.

She was a music and animal connoisseur, sports enthusiast, and loved her Country fervently. She was a Buckeye fan from her childhood, and she put all things on hold during game day Saturdays to cheer on her Bucks.

Laurie married John Schneider on September 3, 1994. Together, they shared their love for each other and the pleasures life rewarded them.

Laurie became known as Mom to Toby Reeves (Mandy) and Jadyn McGee (Erik). She was known as Meems or Meemsie to her beloved grandchildren: Coltin Reeves, Kendall McGee, Mason McGee, and Reagan McGee. The love she gave and received from her children and grandchildren was truly infectious.

She is survived by her siblings whom she cherished deeply: Rick Trout, Deb Nester, and Thomas Trout (Judi). She treasured her nieces and nephews who survive her: James Scott, Randee Bowder, Brianne Nester, Lindy Woll, Melanie Rawlins, Trevor Trout, Jade Patterson, Zach Trout, Ian Trout, Emma Trout, and Aaron Tice.

She is also survived by her mother-in-law Ruth Schneider, sisters-in-law, Kimberley Tice (Steve) and Stephanie Miller (Matt), Lee Trout, Aunt Agnes Rodgers, and brother-in-law Jeff Zook.

She was preceded in death by her parents, younger sister, Shari Zook, her paternal grandparents, Lytle and Marie Trout, maternal grandparents Frank and Jean Rodgers, her Uncle Bob Rodgers, her father-in-law John Schneider, and her brother-in-law John Nester.

In accordance with Laurie’s wishes, she will be cremated with a celebration of her life to follow at 1:00 PM on July 18, 2026 at the Marietta Country Club.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marietta Community Foundation or Humane Society of the Ohio Valley.
