Thank You to Lowell Lodge Egg Hunt Donors

Lowell Masonic Lodge No. 436 held our 29th annual Easter Egg Hunt on Buell Island at the Lowell Village park. The weather cooperated and was perfect for the occasion. Although the lodge does sponsor the egg hunt, we could not have accomplished this without the assistance of our local business and community partners. Medication Take Back Day

Medication Take Back Day will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday April 26, hosted by the Marietta Police Dept. This year’s event will be held in front of The Marietta Police Department, 301 Putnam St., with curb-side service. This is an opportunity to dispose of unused, expired and/or unwanted medication. Medications can be dropped off anonymously, no questions asked. You do not have to remove labels from bottles and we will accept any and all medications. Town Hall

As you may well know, a Town Hall was recently held at the Marietta Armory on Thursday March 27, 2025. Noticeably missing were our elected United States senators and our US representative. They were invited, but they declined to attend the meeting. Also noticeably missing were any journalists from the Marietta Times. SOS – Save Our Schools

Every day, our students are asked to stand for the pledge. They instinctively rise from their seats, turn to the flag with their hand in an area somewhat over their heart, and proudly recite those famous 31 words. In the past, it was so routine that it felt meaningless, but today I see a meaning. The meaning I see is a false, forced reality for many of our children. Currently, they are routinely pledging allegiance to a flag that is showing no allegiance to 90% of our children. The pledge has so many contradictions in today’s world.
