It seems that the agenda of Donald Trump’s second term is guided by a new slogan: America Second. The campaign to eliminate U.S.A.I.D. and efforts to undermine scientific research have allowed China to move into the #1 position among nations. Chinese leaders, unlike the current US president, recognize the nationalistic benefits of aid to foreign nations and achievements in science. These Chinese authorities must be pleased to see the US relinquish its world leadership.

Social Security is most certainly not a “Ponzi scheme” as alleged by Musk. It is a social insurance system and has worked very well for the people of this country. The first Social Security check was paid in 1937. Since then a payment has never been late or missed. Now, under the Trump administration we are beginning to hear the threat of delayed payments or a collapse of the system.
