Mr. Goldfield on his program the week of May 12 mentioned “The Planet of the Apes”. That reminded me of the day President Biden moved into the Whitehouse. That day the White house was being protected by the Military so that President Biden and his family could make an easy move. The City of Marietta wishes to make a statement regarding the previous employment of City Engineer Robert Heady with the city of Marietta. “The City’s former City Engineer, Bob Heady, has been working with the City to finalize his departure from employment. Through that process, the City has accepted Mr. Heady’s voluntary resignation. I had the pleasure of knowing Dora Jean for over 40 years. She was a grand lady who worked tirelessly to improve the education system and community of Marietta. I worked for five different school superintendents. In my view, she was the best. Dora Jean advocated for honor classes and academic excellence. She attended more extra curricular events than any other Superintendent I worked for. She had a work ethic that no one I know can top. In my opinion, we have lost a giant in servant leadership. The Southern Agrarians

The Southern Agrarians were a group of twelve academics centered at Vanderbilt University in the early 20th century. Their manifesto, I’ll Take My Stand (1930), was a collection of essays on the southern way of life published in response to what they saw as the negative effects of northern industrialization. There were three common themes which appeared in these essays and I believe they could provide us some guidance as the rising generation seeks to put America back on track.
