Thank you to the community

On Sunday, June 23, the city of Marietta had the honor of serving as an overnight stop for The Great Race. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out and the level of support our community showed. For those who may not know, The Great Race is an antique and collector car competitive road rally that extends 2,000 miles over a nine-day period. The course, which changes every year, generally follows scenic local, county, and state highways through some of the prettiest small towns in the country. This year they started in Owensboro, ...

Disgusting decision

I am thoroughly disgusted with the decision to use the Trump Parade as the headline in today’s (Monday, July 8) edition of The Marietta Times. At a time when our democracy is threatened by the obvious intent to move the government toward an autocratic state, journalists need to think carefully about what they glorify. Please remember that in Putin’s Russia, journalists are often the first to be arrested or worse. Maybe that’s the distasteful truth … The Marietta Times aka News and Sentinel is hedging its bets. Please report on the positive success of the Biden ...

So, the Story Begins

Dear God, I am a widow lady living alone and I celebrated my 91st birthday on July 4. This has given me a special love for my country. He is killing millions of unborn babies, and also making sex slaves of multiplied millions of women and young boys and girls, even as young as three years old. I can only imagine what our Heavenly Father ...

Organization of Clean Energy and Climate: Present and future activities

The Organization of Clean Energy and Climate is grateful for the positive and supportive comments made in editorial columns of The Marietta Times in their June 3 edition and in their June 22-23 edition. In those references to OCEC the Times indicated that OCEC and its sponsor company, SAI Tech, are a positive sign for the Mid-Ohio Valley and that organizations like the Columbus Cloud Region and Google data centers located in the Columbus area should look beyond central Ohio — including the Mid-Ohio Valley — for collaborators and stakeholders. OCEC Computing Heat Recycle Center ...
