Support Belpre school levy An important decision impacting students in the Belpre City School District will be made on Election Day Nov. 8. Voters will be considering the Belpre City Schools Building Levy issue, asking for a 37-year commitment to fund a new public school complex. Admittedly, construction of any kind brings expense, and public facilities of this size carry a seemingly large price tag. It’s time for a levy for new schools in Belpre It is time for change, Belpre. It is time we pass a levy for new schools. As a student who attended school in a district that failed to pass a levy to build new schools for many years (shout out to Alexander Schools, Class of 2000), I am often transported in my memories to days of duct taping textbooks together and watching friends transfer to Athens City Schools for a more diverse education and better facilities. ODOT employees acting unprofessional One would think with the Woodsfield town square project being so contentious that the ODOT inspector would be very professional and knowledgeable about the project. But on September 6, I found that assumption to be quite wrong. I had an appointment at a business on the square. When I arrived to the square the entire thing was blocked off. I wanted to know why.
