The importance of the natural gas and oil industry has never been more evident. The war in Ukraine, inflation, and skyrocketing energy prices have demonstrated how essential the industry is to our daily lives. Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 5.6% of total U.S. employment and generates an enormous amount of economic benefits across the country. In Ohio, it provides 375,000 direct and 296,000 indirect jobs, supports over $24.7 billion in labor, and contributes $58.7 billion to our gross domestic product. We have grown in size from last year and it was absolutely amazing! We loved welcoming more vendors this year and we hope to continue to see this event grow. Mihail Gorbachev has been referred to as the Last Soviet Leader, who was responsible for tearing down The Berlin Wall. Mihail Gorbachev introduced Glaznost (looking outward) and Perestroika (rebuilding) to than Soviet Union. It seemed to have awaken people’s consciousness to the world outside of Soviet Union. Sternwheel Festival laughs

There is always some fun to experience at Marietta’s biggest party, the Sternwheel Festival. It is always fun to spot friends one doesn’t see often, yet farther up Front Street is where the biggest laughs in my group happened. The MAGApublican political party is displaying a banner “Seeking Truth Defending Liberty.” What a joke. Gracious gifts

At the Marietta Sternwheel festival, this year as in many other years prior the local skateboard community got together with a booth of information about the plans and condition of Marietta’s skateboard park. The skateboarders would like to thank the City of Marietta and the Town House on Front Street for their kindness and generous time and donations to maintain the cement skate park at Indian Acres park.
