At the Marietta Sternwheel festival, this year as in many other years prior the local skateboard community got together with a booth of information about the plans and condition of Marietta’s skateboard park. The skateboarders would like to thank the City of Marietta and the Town House on Front Street for their kindness and generous time and donations to maintain the cement skate park at Indian Acres park. Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank everyone that came out in support of our annual ice cream social held this year on Aug. 6. This year we featured the band Phase 2, our famous chicken dinners, homemade desserts from our community, ice cream, hot dogs, pizza, lemon shakes, inflatables and gun raffles. We also had several beautiful quilts made and donated by talented quilters in our area that were raffled off.
