Zonta Club of the MOV Unique Boutique Sale

The Zonta Club of the MOV would like to thank the community for their continued support of our bi-annual clothing sale the Unique Boutique. This is one of the biggest fundraisers and all the proceeds benefit our service projects, including scholarships to Washington State Community College. These scholarships benefit non-traditional female students. We also work to raise awareness for the need for female hygiene products, bras and undies in the area with our Delicates for Dignity project coming this fall. Today’s world

In as much as today’s surreal images of mayhem in the Ukrainian cities, they are real. It is hard to imagine such disrespect for human beings and destruction of buildings great and small. My hope is that we are not jaded enough by grotesque movies and videos into thinking that the images that we see on television are not real. They are! As the country and the State of Ohio limp toward the November elections, voters need to ask themselves: who really has their backs? From where this voter sits, it’s NOT the Republican party. The United States House of Representatives recently passed a bill to lower the cost of life-saving insulin to $35 per month. The bill was opposed by 193 Republicans despite the fact that people with diabetes can pay as much as $4000 per month for insulin. The fossil fuel quandary

Much is being made nowadays about a perception that the United States needs to increase fossil fuel production in the form of natural gas (methane) and oil production. The argument being that because of sanctions, we no longer receive oil from Russia and that we must, therefore, make up for that loss by producing more domestically.
