On Dec. 2, 2025 the nation with observe a National Day of Giving. The annual drive highlights the needs of non-profits such as the Washington County Homeless Project. The Homeless Project operates a drop-in/warming center from 12-3 p.m. and provides a warm meal, clothing, laundry and shower facilities and counseling assistance for persons who have no place to live. The average daily attendance ranges from 30-50 daily, Monday through Friday. The center is staffed by part-time staff and volunteers.
