Who will stand up for those who need SNAP?

“As stated in our lapse of appropriation correspondence dated October 1, 2025, SNAP has funding available for benefits and operations through the month of October,” reads a letter dated Oct. 10 from Ronald Ward, acting associate administrator of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, to regional and state agency SNAP directors. “However, if the current lapse in appropriations continues, there will be insufficient funds to pay full November SNAP benefits for approximately 42 million individuals across the Nation.” We know that last year there were approximately 1.4 ...

Elect Ron Wesel 4th Ward City Council

Marietta is worth serving, and I can’t think of a better candidate for City Council to serve her than Ron Wesel. Ron is a proud son of Marietta and ready to take on this charge. He spent the first part of his working career at the family business, Marietta Ignition, before joining Mondo Polymer. His business background lends itself well to understanding human resources issues, budgeting, project planning, and accountability. Ron is a leader who will listen courteously, engage in thoughtful discussion, and take decisive action where needed. Please join me in voting for Ron Wesel for ...

Eve, Inc. says thanks!

Local auctioneers, Charlie and Keelan McLeish, volunteered their time and once again had the crowd energized. Washington County Sheriff’s office provided a security presence, the Zonta Club of Marietta and the Environs helped to organize the Silent Auction items so that we were able to ...

Plenty of financial support comes from individuals, of course, but there are also reliable community partners who make a big difference for the organization. One of those partners is the ...

My husband, Mark and I have photographed the sport teams in the community for over 40 years. We have met so many wonderful people. The coaches felt that many of these people would like to show their support and concern and “wow” were they right. The ...
