John Thomas “Tom” Carey
John Thomas "Tom" Carey passed away with his wife by his side on October 5, 2026, from complications of cancer. Tom was born April 17, 1947, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Anne and John Carey. He grew up in McKeesport, PA, and graduated from McKeesport High School. He was an Eagle Boy Scout, altar boy and loved tennis. He and a friend were the Northern Virginia doubles champions. Tom went to Ohio University on a tennis scholarship and graduated in 1969. He then became a Physical Education Major and taught in Northern Virginia and received his Masters Degree from George Washington in Washington ...
