She was born on January 6, 1945, in Marietta to Walter & Lena Mae Ross Babb. Sandra enjoyed going to Nascar races and watching their UMP Modified race car run at several local race tracks with her husband. After spending his early years in Virginia, the family moved to Belpre, Ohio, where Ralph began high school.
