¯On Oct. 11, Savona Simpson, of 732 Second St., Marietta, reported a man holding a rebar and attempting to entice a fight. He was identified as Tyler W. Ahrens, 22, of 732 Second St., Marietta, and during the investigation, was found to have thrown his child’s mother through a screen door in an attempt to reach the victim’s current boyfriend. Ahrens was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with aggravated menacing and domestic violence.
¯The Kmart on Pike Street reported a theft on Oct. 11. The female suspect had fled the scene before the officer’s arrival and was unable to be located after a search of the area was completed.
¯Teresa L. Sparks, of 216 Harmar St., Marietta, reported a theft from her vehicle. Several items were determined stolen from the unlocked vehicle.
¯Paula R. Colyer, of 16045 State Route 550, Fleming, spoke with officers about the unauthorized use of her bank account on Oct. 12.
¯On Friday, Bridgeport Equipment, of 15 Acme St., Marietta, issued a theft complaint concerning a man who had entered the business on Oct. 9 and on Thursday. Video surveillance showed the suspect shoplifting several tools on both occasions.
¯Officers were dispatched to 105 Gilman Ave., Lot 13, Marietta, on Friday after a woman requested assistance in asking another to leave her property. Upon arrival multiple drug abuse items were brought out of the home. A more extensive search was conducted and multiple drug abuse instruments were found along with a small amount of marijuana. Three people will be charged with multiple drug offenses.
¯Officers continued their investigation with the theft of crossbows from the Walmart on Pike Street on Saturday. There are three current cases involving the same individual stealing crossbows from Walmart.
¯Ashai Stewart, 21, of 235 N. Seventh St., Apt. 235, Marietta, and Colin J. Williams Sr., 22, of 235 N. Seventh St., Apt. 425, of Marietta, were arrested on Saturday in the vicinity of Front and Butler streets each for one count of obstructing official business and one count of resisting arrest.
¯On Monday, officers conducted a traffic stop where the vehicle refused to stop and was pursued into the Oak Grove area. After several minutes, the vehicle came to a stop in the 1300 block of Gilman Street. After a search of the vehicle, several items of contraband were located and collected.
Thomas R. Voisinet, 35, of 485 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, Josey C. Barton, 25, of 815 Fifth St., Marietta, and Michael C.D. Plaugher, 37, of P.O. Box 2135, Marietta, were arrested and sent to the Washington County Jail.
¯On Monday, Ross Thomas, of 509 Sixth St., Marietta, reported a theft out of his vehicle at 513 Sixth St., Marietta. Thomas said golf clubs were stolen out of his trunk of his car. The case remains under investigation.
¯Anne Burke, of 519 Adams St., Marietta, reported a burglary at her residence on Monday. Several pieces of African art were stolen from the home. The case remains under investigation.
¯Devin L. Lindsey, 21, of 408 Marion St., Marietta, was arrested on Monday on a warrant for failure to appear for a court hearing. He was turned over to the Morgan County Sheriff.
Reports/Washington County
¯ Deputies along with the Newport Volunteer Fire Department Emergency Squad responded to 416 Main St., New Matamoras on Oct. 11. Audrey Ann Eckstein, of 406 Front St., Apt. A, New Matamoras, was accidentally struck by a vehicle when the vehicle was pulled up to the front of her home to unload some items. This case remains under investigation.
¯ On Oct. 12 Par Mar #2, 8600 State Route 339, Vincent, reported the theft of gasoline totaling $22. This case remains under investigation.
¯ Brent McKinney, of 29075 State Route 7, Marietta, reported Oct. 12 he was threatened by Eric Shawn Valentine, 45, of 1005 Cornerville Road, Marietta. McKinney is now dating Valentine’s ex-girlfriend and has been threatened for the past four months. Numerous text messages of a threatening nature have been made by Valentine toward McKinney. McKinney said Valentine showed up at his home, pounding on the door so hard that it caused part of the door to break. McKinney did not answer the door and Valentine eventually left. A deputy viewed text messages in which many stated he was going to cause harm to McKinney, along with McKinney telling Valentine to stop having any contact with him. A warrant for the arrest of Eric Valentine is being requested through the Marietta Municipal Court for telephone harassment and aggravated menacing.
¯ Thomas H. Turner with Turner One Stop, 18971 State Route 339, Waterford, reported Oct. 13 that Monster energy drinks and Rockstar energy drinks totaling $7.58 were stolen from the business. This case remains under investigation.
¯ A deputy responded to 101 Evans St., New Matamoras, on Oct. 13 to meet with Donald Hendershot, who had his driver’s license stolen. This case remains under investigation.
¯ On Friday it was reported that Sara Jane Erb, 31, of 24420 State Route 339, Lowell, had possession of drugs in her vehicle parked at the front of 309 Fourth St., Marietta. Deputies approached the vehicle and identified the occupant as Erb. Erb gave consent to search her belongings and stated that there was a container in her bag that was not hers. Erb provided another container with two plastic tubes with white residue in them. One container was field tested, showing a positive test for methamphetamine, weighing at 1.06 grams. Erb was placed under arrest for possession of a schedule 1 drug and possession of drug paraphernalia and was transported to the Washington County Jail.
¯ On Friday, a deputy observed a car nearly strike the guardrail on Ohio 7 near the intersection of Joe Skinner Road. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver, Kimberly S. Lemley, 58, of 166 Washington Heights, Parkersburg performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Lemley was arrested for OVI and transported to the Belpre City Police Department for a BAC test, with the results being .124. Lemley was then transported to the Washington County Jail.
¯ On Saturday, a deputy approached the driver of a car behind a bank in Barlow Township. The driver attempted to leave and ignored instructions. John Lee McCroan, 39, of 5274 Kinglet Court, Orient, eventually provided his driver’s license and performed field sobriety tests. He was later transported to the Belpre City Police Department for a BAC test. A partial evaluation was all that was obtained as the subject was not cooperative with the Belpre patrolman. McCroan was asked to submit a urine sample, which he refused. McCroan was then placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was charged with having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence.

¯ Denna Marie Lott, 36, 817 37th St., Vienna, was arrested Friday for improper handling of a firearm, a felony.
¯ Joshua Daniel Campbell, 31, of 840 Echo Valley Road, Waterford, was arrested Friday on a warrant for failure to appear, a felony.
¯ Kimberly Sue Lemley, 58, of 166 Washington Heights, Parkersburg, was arrested Friday for OVI, a misdemeanor.
