Man accused of making online threats to WCSO, MMH staff
From staff reports
The father of a Belpre man arrested for violently shaking his baby was put behind bars this week as well, after allegedly making derogatory comments and online threats against the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and employees of Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Philip Lee Alexander, 52, of 60 Wagon Wheel Trail, Mills River, N.C., has been charged with retaliation, a third-degree felony. Alexander is the father of Graeme Alexander, arrested earlier this week for endangering children, a second-degree felony.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, they became aware of disturbing messages posted by the elder Alexander on Facebook on Wednesday. The messages had “explicit adult content” and made reference to Philip Alexander buying an AK-47 and traveling to Washington County to use it on officers. The posts further stated he would much prefer murder with his bare hands, which he states he is trained to do. The posts further made mention of “MY KID” being arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.
When Washington County detectives made contact with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office in Hendersonville N.C. they were informed that they had also received a complaint about disturbing posts about their agency. After a warrant was requested through Marietta Municipal Court, deputies with the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Philip Alexander Thursday evening.
Graeme Alexander, 27, 814 Leonard Ave., is currently out of jail on bond. He is accused of shaking his 2-month-old son, causing serious injuries.
