Lillie Marie “Aunt Marie” Johnson of Lowell, formerly of Warren, Ohio, will be celebrating her 90th birthday on Nov. 9.

She was born Nov. 9, 1927, to Charles “Francis” and Lu Stella White Johnson of Harrisonville, Ohio, the second of five children. She lived in Fleming, Ohio, Canton, Marietta and Warren, Ohio.

She helped relatives and neighbors with new babies. Through the years, She worked at Woolworth’s in Marietta, Spragues Grocery on Harmar Hill in Marietta, Marietta Memorial Hospital laundry, Penn-Ohio Laundry in Canton, a glass cutting company in Warren, Ohio, Warren General Hospital for 15 1/2 years, as well as an Amway distributer.

She has been very active in her church. While living in Warren, she was a faithful member of First Assembly of God and attends River of Life Assembly of God in Marietta.

She enjoys crocheting afghans, listening to audiobooks including the KJV Bible, making “pillowslip dresses” for missionaries to Ghana, Africa, making cookies for the Royal Rangers Boys Ministry and spending many hours on the phone talking with her friends and prayer partners.

A 90th birthday surprise party will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Fort Harmar’s River of Life Assembly of God, 200 Franklin St., Marietta, in the fellowship hall (off of Market Street).
