BELPRE – At approximately 3:40 p.m. Saturday, an explosion occurred at an apartment complex at Fifth and Stone streets in Belpre.

According to officials, the cause of the explosion is still under investigation and there are no reported fatalities.

Neighbor Tyler Sturm was spending time in his backyard with his family when the incident occurred.

“Everything shook – I turned around (and) the roof off of this place (was) going everywhere,” he said. “It was in the trees, it’s on the back of (another neighbor’s) roof.”

Responding agencies included the Belpre and Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Departments and Belpre Police Department.
