¯ An officer investigated the report of the theft of a pair of shoes at the Shoe Dept. on Nov. 17, valued at $24.95. The suspect has been identified.

¯ Units were dispatched Nov. 18 to 840 Pike St., Sierra Apartments, in reference to an assault. Contact was made with the victims and other witnesses. Through the investigation, it was found that Jason Lanning had arrived at the apartment parking lot and got into a verbal argument that escalated into a gun being pulled and the victim being pistol whipped by Lanning. He was located, arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail for felonious assault, domestic violence by threat and weapons under disability.

¯ Units responded Nov. 19 to 836 Pike St. in reference to a man that had made suicidal threats. The man was located, and after speaking with him, it was determined he had consumed alcohol and then called a relative and made suicidal statements. He was transported to the Marietta Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

¯ Units responded Nov. 19 to a commercial alarm at 472 Pike St. The area was checked and the business was found to be secure. While checking the area, three subjects were found dumpster diving behind the strip mall. One of the subjects was identified as Gabrielle Rhoton, who had an active warrant out of the Belpre Police Department. Rhoton was taken into custody and transported to the jail.

¯ The Marietta Police Department received a complaint Nov. 19 of sexual assaults that occurred three to four years ago.

¯ An officer was dispatched Nov. 19 to Ridgewood Court in reference to a request for an officer. The sergeant spoke with witnesses who reported they saw a juvenile girl and adult man who appeared to be performing sex acts in the woods behind the complex. This case remains under investigation.

¯ Units responded Friday to a suicidal woman on Third Street. She was taken to Marietta Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

¯ A patrolman responded to We Lov Pets, 450 Pike St., Saturday in reference to a theft complaint. As a result of the investigation, Uriah Matthew Hill was placed under arrest for theft after stealing a bottle of catnip valued at $4.49. He was released on a signed personal recognizance bond.

¯ An officer responded Saturday to 780 Greene St. in reference to the caller reporting a neighbor shot her dog with a pellet gun. The dog’s injuries were non-life threatening and did not have to be seen by a vet. The male suspect was identified and is receiving a summons through Marietta Municipal Court for discharging a firearm (which includes pellet guns under city ordinance) and injuring animals.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Saturday to Walmart in reference to a male shoplifter who was identified. After speaking with Walmart loss prevention, the patrolman learned that the man used the self-checkout lane and failed to scan multiple items, totaling $75 in his cart. He then passed the last point of sale without paying for the items that weren’t scanned. A summons will be requested for a theft charge, along with a trespass charge, as he was previously trespassed from Walmart.

¯ A victim arrived at the Marietta Police Department on Sunday to report Juan Manuel Salazar violated a protection order against her. A protection order was confirmed valid through Marietta Municipal Court. Salazar arrived at MPD and was placed under arrest for violating a protection order and was transported to jail.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Sunday to 218 Pennsylvania Ave. Apt. 6 in reference to a theft of a moped.

¯ An officer responded Monday to 122 Wood St. in reference to the theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle. The victim reported being woken up by a loud noise and seeing two subjects running away from his vehicle and down the railroad tracks.

¯ A patrolman was dispatched Monday to 229 Oakwood Ave. in reference to a domestic disturbance between a woman and her 27-year-old son. The suspect, Ramiro Perez Jr., was arrested and transported to the jail on domestic violence charges.

¯ An officer conducted a traffic stop on Monday at the Seventh Street Speedway. During the stop, drug paraphernalia was located and a search was conducted. Suspected heroin, multiple needles, $489 cash, empty baggies and a digital scale were recovered. Charges are pending after drug testing results have returned.

Reports/Washington County

¯ A deputy was dispatched Nov. 17 to Aurelius Township in reference to a cat being shot with a bow. After completing the investigation, a juvenile will be summoned into Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by cruelty to animals.

¯ A sergeant began an investigation Nov. 20 into a stolen generator. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy was dispatched Saturday to 27400 State Route 7, Lot 42, Marietta, to a report of Bridget Jeffers pulling a knife on a man. The deputy noted injuries to the man, and he stated over the last three days, Jeffers had pulled a knife on him three times, and also tried to choke him. After completing the investigation Bridget Starr Jeffers, 38, was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated menacing and domestic violence.

¯ A deputy was dispatched Sunday to Luke Chute Road, Waterford, to a report of Isaac Stout grabbing a subject during a custody exchange. After completing the investigation, it was determined that Isaac D. Stout, 36, of 5057 Buchanan Road, Waterford, would be summoned into court for disorderly conduct by fighting.

¯ Della Kay Meadows, 66, of 2720 Beach Drive, Apt. 3, Belpre, was arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Niesha Nicole Sheets, 30 , of 194 High St., Vincent, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

¯ Lakyn Nikole Hunter, 20, of 102 Longacre St., Apt. B, Marietta, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

¯ Christina Marie Hower, 36, of 736 Utica Ave., Akron, was arrested for contempt of court, a misdemeanor.

¯ Haley Marie Linkous, 27, of 27290 Silver Creek Road, Portland, was arrested for possessing drug abuse instruments and breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors.

¯ Vivian Melissa Knight, 42, of 402 O’Neil St., Belpre, was arrested for domestic violence and probation violation, both misdemeanors.

¯ Esteban Ruben Workman Miller, 21, of 14324 State Route 550, Fleming, was arrested for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a felony.

¯ Steven Lee Sealey, 42, of 1660 Sealey Ridge Road, Vincent, was arrested for nonsupport of dependents.

¯ Bridget Starr Jeffers, 38, of 27400 State Route 7, Lot 42, Marietta, was arrested for aggravated menacing and domestic violence, both misdemeanors.

¯ Jess Paul Coach, 56, of 101 School St., Cleveland, N.C., was arrested for two counts of driving while under the influence of alcohol/drugs, both misdemeanors.

¯ Keith Tyler Whealdon, 28, of 5355 State Route 26, Marietta, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

¯ Travis Benjamin Drake, 43, of 222 Valley Mills Circle, Parkersburg, was arrested for probation violation, a misdemeanor; and carrying concealed weapon, escape, improper handling of a firearm and having weapons while under disability, all felonies.

¯ Juan Manual Salazar, 24, of 308 Harmar St., Marietta, was arrested for violating a protection order, a misdemeanor.

¯ Courtney Nicole Anderson, 30, of 100 Cherry Tree Lane, Marietta, was arrested for illegal use of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs, both felonies; and driving under suspension, fictitious plates, failure to display plates, two counts of possession of marijuana, two counts of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing official business, all misdemeanors.

¯ Robert Corey Wanzo, 33, of 427 Main St., Apt. 11, East Bernard, Texas, was arrested for probation violation, a felony.
