MARIETTA - The National Weather Service has severe thunderstorm and flood watches in effect for the Marietta area this evening, and a flash flood warning until 4:15 p.m. for the south central portion of Washington County. The forecast calls for a possible thunderstorm before 5 p.m., with showers and thunderstorms likely after that. The chance of precipitation is 90%. Ohio federal judge issues preliminary injunction allowing 10 businesses to sell hemp products

A federal judge in Ohio is allowing 10 businesses to continue selling hemp products and THC drinks while a lawsuit plays out. U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Helmick granted a preliminary injunction on July 13, allowing these 10 businesses to continue selling their intoxicating hemp products. Students from the region have received academic honors. They were: Paul Teltscher of Parkersburg has received Faculty Honors for Spring 2026 at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 4.0 academic average for the semester. Faith Pickens of Williamstown has been named to the Dean's List at the University of Tampa (Fla.) for the Spring 2026 semester.
