Hope Bible Church to host Mid-Ohio Valley Hope Rally

Discouraged? Depressed? Don’t know what to do? Facing the impossible? Bound by the chains of addiction? Looking for hope? Hope Bible Church of Reno is sponsoring a “Hope Rally” for the Mid-Ohio Valley and surrounding areas. Each evening there will be special singing from various groups and an inspirational message from Evangelist Rodney Keister. The event is free and open to the public and will take place from Oct. 10 to 14 on the Armory Lawn, located at 241 Front St., Marietta. Berg Church Homecoming is Sept. 16 The homecoming is the church’s annual celebration of its German heritage and will be held at Berg Church, north of Stanleyville in Fearing Township on Berg Church Road. It was 4:30 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2005. I was awake for the day, a full half hour before my alarm went off. After turning over and wishing I could go back to sleep, I spied the book, Acts 29, on my night stand. It had been given to me on the previous day by a member of the congregation I served (Ron). Longtime pastor Shuler to return for 200th anniversary

The Rev. Don Shuler will return to First Baptist Church of Marietta on Sunday, Sept. 9, to give the keynote address for the church’s 200th anniversary service at 10:30 a.m. Shuler retired as pastor on June 7, 1998, after serving for 25 1/2 years — longer than any other pastor in the church’s history. Rebecca Cutlip Taylor and the Rev. Dianne Wisemiller Steelman, who were on staff with Shuler, will also take part in the service, along with the Rev. Mark Click.
