Donnie Wells

Donnie Wells, 64, of Beverly, died on Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home. He was born on February 13, 1960, in Marietta, Ohio, son of Marion E. and Shirley Miller Wells. Donnie graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1978 and attended the Washington County Vocational School. He had been a self- employed landscaper in the area for several years. He was a member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge # 37 F&AM and was a Christian by faith. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, tractors and trucks and especially enjoyed back roading. Lela Mae Davis, 90, of Caldwell, died Saturday, July 27, 2024, at her home near Ava. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Ava United Methodist Church, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 11 on Tuesday. Gary L. Dennis, 85, of Marietta passed away at 6:16 am on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 12, 1938, in Newport Township, a son of the late S. Okey and M. Garnet Dennis. Gary attended Newport Schools for years and graduated from Marietta City Schools in 1956 and later attended Ohio University. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in December, 1956 and served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne as a Paratrooper and was a Helicopter Crew Chief, Spec. 5. He was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC.
