Thanksgiving Thank You

On behalf of the Norwood United Methodist Church, we would like to express our appreciation to the community for the help with the Thanksgiving Dinner. The volunteers who helped prepare and distribute the meal were invaluable. The generous financial donations provided help to secure the needed supplies. And the assistance from Warren’s IGA for cooking the meat was very much appreciated. Together, over 500 meals were prepared and provided to our community. Marietta Area Recycling Thankful

Thanksgiving is the start of a busy holiday season and no better time for the Volunteers at the Marietta Area Recycling Center (MARC) to express their thankfulness for all of the community support in 2024. You helped in making sure we maintained a 24 hour/7 day a week recycling drop-off site for our community and surrounding areas. This year had its weather challenges. It started with frigid temps that actually froze our plastics into the compacter and with the help of Randy our Rumpke Driver and Mondo Polymers we were finally able to unload. Looking forward to improvements

The election is over. Republicans have fully taken the wheel of the ship. I, for one, am excited to see how they can help! As someone suffering from poor outdoor air quality, I’m hopeful that President Trump and his allies in the Senate and House can solve this seemingly intractable problem which makes it challenging for me to breathe. I am sure that Trump understands that we all deserve clean air and pure water. We also need ways in which we can improve the air while rebuilding our economy. While the majority of voters in Washington County were obviously pleased by the outcome of the Nov. 5 election, there is a minority of voters who were more than disappointed. Democratic candidates are well aware of the challenges they face in running for office in this county, district or state. 35th Annual WMOA Christmas Zoo

The WMOA Christmas Zoo, started in 1990 by former owner Big John Wharff, was inspired by big city live broadcasts like Macy’s in New York and Lazarus in Columbus. The goal was to collect stuffed animals for local charities, with longtime WMOA morning host Dick Guyer as the first “Zookeeper.” Over the years, Dan Castelli (1995-2006), now Kyle Wenzel, and Ben Marshall (2007-present), have carried on the Zoo’s hybrid mission of collecting animals and monetary donations. Zonta Club of MOV says Thank You

The Zonta Club of the MOV would like to thank the community for their outstanding support of our recent bi-annual clothing sale the Unique Boutique. This sale has been happening in Marietta for approximately 40 years or more. This is one of our biggest fundraisers and all the proceeds benefit our service projects. Mainly our scholarship program at Washington State College of Ohio. These scholarships are given out in April to non-traditional female students who are looking to further their education and make a better life for themselves and their families.
