Thanks to community for support with BBQ event

The Hervida 4-H Camp Board thanks the Mid-Ohio Valley Community for their wonderful support of our annual Camp Hervida chicken BBQ dinner, held on May 7. We sold almost 400 dinners to dine in or take out and with the proceeds from the country store, we had a profit of over $3,000! This is one of our biggest fundraisers and we appreciate all the support from the local 4-H Clubs, advisors and community members who volunteered to help set up, serve, clean up and take down. Role of Fathers

Leo Terrell, (an American attorney) emphasized the importance of father in a family unit to young boys as well as girls. Truly, Mr. Torrells’ statements ring overwhelmingly true. All children need parents or caring and responsible person to emulate. The best scenario is having father and mother in a home. When boys resort to unacceptable behavior, it usually stems from lack of guidance from parents. I want to officially thank everyone who contributed to the overwhelming success and good old fashioned fun that was generated at last week’s 29th annual Cincinnati Reds Legends Youth Baseball/Softball Camp held at Vienna Rec Fields. The atmosphere was electric and the fun and memories that were experienced by all in attendance, was an awesome thing to see. Kudos to the Washington County Commissioners for stepping up on behalf of their constituents on the issue of injection wells. All three commissioners (President Charlie Schilling, Jamie Booth, and Kevin Ritter) were in attendance at the June 2 meeting regarding the proposed additional injection well in Little Hocking, which was scheduled by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (Division of Oil and Gas Resources Management). Dear Editor, It seems that someone has way too much money to be able to send flyers to the households of residents in West Virginia with absolute lies concerning Medicare. Imagine the cost of running all the TV ads! I am not sure who the brain child and supporters are but I do know that “60 Plus American Association of Senior Citizens” does not represent me, my husband and most of the people I know who are over 60.
