Free speech worth the fight

The richest man in the world just fired a shot for one of the bedrock principals of the United States, free speech. We have witnessed the massive censorship of big tech in the last few years. We can look from the lab leak theory on covid to the Hunter Biden laptop. We also see that Putin still has an account, but Trump is banned. Twitter has even banned the New York Post. What we are watching is big tech actively involved in propaganda. This is the United States, not a repressive, authoritative country. We cherish freedom. Consequences

There is a lot of noise on media about killing, destruction of property and looting. Perhaps a lot of mayhem in “Summer of Love” in 2020 and forward would not have happened if perpetrators were held accountable for their actions, after tragic events in Baltimore. Than we had an excellent opportunity to “take the temperature down” at that time. The major problem with Baltimore riots was that there were no consequences for the actions of young people against the Police. Zonta Club of the MOV Unique Boutique Sale

The Zonta Club of the MOV would like to thank the community for their continued support of our bi-annual clothing sale the Unique Boutique. This is one of the biggest fundraisers and all the proceeds benefit our service projects, including scholarships to Washington State Community College. These scholarships benefit non-traditional female students. We also work to raise awareness for the need for female hygiene products, bras and undies in the area with our Delicates for Dignity project coming this fall. Today’s world

In as much as today’s surreal images of mayhem in the Ukrainian cities, they are real. It is hard to imagine such disrespect for human beings and destruction of buildings great and small. My hope is that we are not jaded enough by grotesque movies and videos into thinking that the images that we see on television are not real. They are!
