Who has your back?

As the country and the State of Ohio limp toward the November elections, voters need to ask themselves: who really has their backs? From where this voter sits, it’s NOT the Republican party. The United States House of Representatives recently passed a bill to lower the cost of life-saving insulin to $35 per month. The bill was opposed by 193 Republicans despite the fact that people with diabetes can pay as much as $4000 per month for insulin. Yet, these same Republicans decry President Biden for what they call “spiraling” inflation. Meanwhile, the Ohio Legislature cannot find an ...

The war we cannot afford to lose

Dr. Svitlana Krakovska, a Ukrainian climate scientist and member of the International Panel on Climate Change recently said, “Human induced climate change and the war on Ukraine have the same roots, fossil fuels, and our dependence on them,” Europe’s dependence on fossil fuels from Russia is “funding the war” in Ukraine. Russia, the second largest producer of natural gas, has been accused of using the resource in a geopolitical way against European countries dependent on its gas. Europe views the worsening situation in Ukraine as justification to double up its investments ...

The fossil fuel quandary

Much is being made nowadays about a perception that the United States needs to increase fossil fuel production in the form of natural gas (methane) and oil production. Furthermore, arguments have been made, that pipelines previously halted for environmental reasons, must now be fast ...

Slap Heard Round the World

The Oscars have become nothing bad a bad joke and unfortunately the talk of the town. I think many people will miss the exposure of Hollywood that I see when I watch the clip of the “Slap Heard Round the World”. First and foremost, if you were on live TV and committed assault, you would likely be arrested for assault. The desire of the victim to press charges or not to press charges would be irrelevant. The camera is the only witness needed in this instance. We get to view celebrity privilege in all its glory. Next, we should evaluate the virtue signaling that most celebrities are ...

Corporations drive gouging

Look folks, the president has no say in gasoline price at the pumps. Crude oil imports from Russia amount to 1.3% of total. The Keystone Pipeline is not shut down and does nothing for the U.S. The price of gasoline is up because oil conglomerates decided to screw you, blame others and think you are misinformed or ill-informed enough to accept their lies. There are over 9,000 drilling permits ignored and unused by these corrupt corporations. While the pro-Russian wing of the Republican party, led by their incoherent boss, rants and whimpers about gasoline prices and tries to blame the ...
