The Right Path for Washington County’s mission is to promote healthy youth development through pro-social and community service opportunities for youth, primarily 6th-12th grade. In our 18th summer of safe teen and family events we are hosting three mini-farmer’s markets; our first, from 6 to 8 p.m. July 9, Marietta Aquatic Center, partnering with GoPacks. I spent ages three through six on an army base in Kentucky as my father served a second hitch after the war. We would often spend Saturday mornings on the parade grounds watching and listening to military bands play Sousa music as they marched carrying flags waving in the breeze. I would publicly like to thank all the staff at Marietta Memorial and Shelby Rehab Center. The nurses and therapy department are the most caring people I have ever met in my life. Their endless efforts gave me the strength to walk out almost completely unaffected from my stroke. They did everything they could to make me feel comfortable as if I was at home. I want to officially thank everyone who contributed to the overwhelming success, and awesome fun that was generated at last week’s 28th annual Cincinnati Reds Legends Youth Baseball/Softball Camp at Vienna Rec Fields. The good old fashioned fun that was experienced by all in attendance was an awesome thing to see.
