Washington County Arrests

The following individuals were arrested during the weeks of Sept. 4-11 and Sept. 12-16:

¯ Jared Michael Wells, 27, Marietta, probation violation, a misdemeanor.

¯ Charles Ameche Cox Jr., 24, Fairlawn, receiving stolen property, a felony, and open container, a misdemeanor.

¯ Slone Jack Lang, 27, Waterford, breaking and entering, a felony.

¯ Chico Maurice Mason, 47, Waterford, domestic violence, a felony.

¯ Edward Lee Owens, 47, Salem, failure to stop after an accident, a misdemeanor.

¯ Robert Edward Carpenter, Jr., 22, theft of drugs, a felony.

¯ Stoney Ryan Day, 41, Racine, having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Chelsea Marie Cantwell, 33, Newport, illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

¯ Harold Nelson Joy, 58, Marietta, driving while under the influence of alcohol and diving under suspension, both misdemeanors.

¯ Donta Barnell Borden, 44, Cincinnati, robbery, a family.

¯ Nishan NMN Kami, 19, Pataskala, improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon.

¯ Peyton Dillon Williams, 20, Marietta, alcohol under the age of 21 and open container, both misdemeanors.

¯ Joshua Allen Campbell, 39, Marietta, probation violation, two counts; criminal damaging; breach of recognizance; all misdemeanors; and nonsupport of dependents.

¯ Joseph Scott Radcliff, 46, Williamstown, theft, abusing harmful intoxicants and probation violation, all misdemeanors.

¯ Tre Michael Hughes, 29, Parkersburg, two counts of violating a protection order or consent agreement, both misdemeanors, and domestic violence, a felony.

¯ Jeffrey Grant Wayne Powers, 32, Marietta, disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

¯ Jessica Michelle Hendershot, 37, New Matamoras, theft and breach of recognizance, both misdemeanors.

¯ Robert Joseph Lincoln, 35, Marietta, two counts domestic violence, both misdemeanors.

¯ Kathryn Dallas Hornbeck, 21, Belpre, probation violation, a misdemeanor, and tampering with evidence, a felony.

¯ Nicole Alexandria Taylor, 24, Marietta, probation violation, a felony.

¯ Eric Shawn Owens, 42, Vincent, contempt of court.

¯ Chad Robert Parsons, 42, Marietta, six counts of theft, one count each of contempt of court and obstructing official business, all misdemeanors.

¯ Tyler Joseph McMahan, 30, Belpre, criminal trespass, theft, and possessing criminal tools, all misdemeanors.

¯ Cody Ross Chamberlain, 33, Marietta, domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Tyler Anthony Ridgeway, 23, Marietta, disrupting public service, a felony, domestic violence, and endangering children, both misdemeanors.

Reports/Washington County

The following reports are provided by the Washington County Sherrif’s Office.

¯ A deputy responded to Little Bear Creek, Adams Township, on Sept. 1, regarding an assault complaint. Keith Whealdon was involved in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation. After completing the investigation, it was determined that Keith Tyler Whealdon, 29, 5355 State Route 26, Marietta, would be arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail for assault and theft.

¯ A deputy began an investigation on Sept. 2 into a theft in Belpre Township.

¯ A deputy began an investigation on Sept. 3 in Barlow Township in reference to a temporary tag being stolen.

¯ A lieutenant was dispatched to Lowell Hill Road in Waterford Township to a report of an unknown male entering a garage, unattached from the residence, but used as a business. Lt. Hunter entered the man door and announced his presence to a male subject, later identified as Slone Jack Lang, 27, 2633 Hendershot Road, Waterford, was placed under arrest and transported to the Washington County Jail on a charge of breaking and entering.

¯ Deputies were dispatched to Washington Street, Waterford Township, on Sept. 4 in reference to Chico Mason and a female fighting. The female stated that Mason was angry with her, slammed her to the ground and got on top of her. Mason then placed his hand over her mouth however she was able to bite him and get away. Mason’s version of events was much different. Chico Maurice Mason, 47, 132 Washington St., Waterford, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

¯ A deputy began an investigation in Warren Township on Sept. 5 in reference to a juvenile menacing another juvenile. Charges were filed on the juvenile for aggravated menacing.

¯ A deputy began an investigation on Sept. 5 into a juvenile being unruly/delinquent. Charges were filed on the juvenile in Marietta Township.

¯ A lieutenant began an investigation on Sept. 6 into fraudulent checks passed to a business in Newport Township.

¯ A deputy began an investigation on Sept. 7 into a burglary in Warren Township.

¯ A deputy began an investigation on Sept. 7 into a theft/scam of money in Belpre Township.

¯ A deputy began an investigation on Sept. 7 into a truck belonging to Reno Oil and Gas being stolen.

¯ A deputy began an investigation in Waterford Township on Sept. 7 regarding tampering with a gas meter.

¯ A deputy received notification on Sept. 6 that there were dogs on a subject’s property that belonged to Jacqueline Elliott, 15 Schau Road, Lowell. Deputy Derkin spoke with Elliott and advised her of the complaint. Elliott admitted to the dogs being off of her property sometimes. A summons is being requested for Elliott for failing to restrain her dogs.

¯ A deputy responded to 20 Sandhill Road, Marietta Township, on Sept. 8, for a private property crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was on scene advising that the driver came from Sandhill Road and pulled into the bank parking lot, striking a parked vehicle. Harold Joy, the driver, was found to be driving on a suspended license with expired plates. Joy had struck the parked vehicle and while speaking with him, it was observed that his speech was slurred, his pupils were pinpoint and he was unsteady on his feet. A field sobriety test was administered in which Joy performed poorly. Joy was transported for assessment, and his Ford pickup truck was towed. Harold Nelson Joy, 57, 165 Starlite Drive, Lot 30, Marietta, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and driving under suspension.

¯ A sergeant began an investigation on Sept. 9, in Newport Township in reference to subjects being disorderly.

¯ A sergeant was traveling northbound on Ohio 821 on Sept. 9, near the intersection of Ohio 60, Muskingum Township. A Ford Explorer turned off of Ohio 60 onto the merge lane to also travel northbound on Ohio 821, which is posted with a yield sign. The driver of the Explorer did not slow while approaching the merge portion of the roadway where the officer was already traveling, requiring him to lock up his brakes to avoid a crash. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver/registered owner, Lisa A. Lanier. Lanier advised she was new to the area and did not see the yield sign. A citation for failure to yield the right of way was issued to Lisa Lanier, West Chester.

¯ A deputy began an investigation on Sept. 9 at a residence on Turner Drive, Belpre Township, regarding stolen lawn care equipment.

¯ A sergeant began an investigation on Sept. 9 in Wesley Township. During the investigation, deputies located Donta B. Borden, 44, Cincinnati, who was found to have an active warrant for robbery. Borden was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail.

¯ A deputy was dispatched to McDonald Road, Barlow Township, on Sept. 10 to a report of an assault by Alfred Martin. Martin arrived at the residence uninvited and opened an unlocked window, yelling inside the residence. Martin then pushed the subject inside the window from outside. Alfred Henry Martin III, 36, 28222 Osborne Road, Coolville, was contacted and denied pushing the individual. A summons was requested for Martin on a charge of domestic violence.
