Dominion Energy discusses rate hike

Dominion Energy recently shared the reasoning behind its proposed rate hike and additional charges. The Ohio Consumers’ Counsel discussed the rate hike with Marietta City Council’s Water and Sewer Committee at a meeting Monday night. The company has proposed a 30% rate increase, with an additional $8.78 per month, and other charges in the future, in a case that is pending before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. Wood County BOE hears update on reduction in force

PARKERSBURG - Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources John Merritt spoke to the Wood County Board of Education Tuesday night about the upcoming reduction in force the district is facing due to the loss of COVID funding. He said the school district is undergoing an unprecedented workforce realignment process for the 2024-2025 school year due to funding constraints and shrinking student population.
