¯ A deputy responded Saturday to Newport Township in an attempt to arrest a subject on a felony warrant. A male subject exited a camper and upon seeing law enforcement, retreated back into the camper. The deputy knocked on the door and met with an individual. A man came out of the camper and advised he did not know where the wanted individual was. When asked for date and birth and other personal identifiers, he stated he couldn’t remember and didn’t know, and took a while to advise of his date of birth. Reports/Ohio State Highway Patrol ¯ Daniel Lee Moyer, 20, of 7345 Cox Koble Road, Gloucester, was traveling northbound June 4 on Township Road 77 in Homer Township when his 2003 Subaru Forester went off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle went into a ditch, overcorrected and went off the left side of the roadway and down an embankment. Grand Jury indicts 21 defendants

The man who allegedly assaulted a Belpre resident last month was indicted this week by the Washington County Grand Jury. John Lloyd Mace, 40, homeless, was indicted on one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and one count of trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, a fourth-degree felony. Motorcyclist death under investigation

The Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a motorcyclist after a two-vehicle crash at approximately 5:11 p.m. Friday on Ohio 555 near mile post 1 in Marion Township. The crash involved a 2010 Toyota RAV4, operated by Rachel D. Wriston, 46, of Cutler, and a 1999 Harley Davidson Electra Glide, operated by Terry W. Filsinger, 59, of Grafton. The investigation found Filsinger was traveling north on Ohio 555 and crossed left of center, striking Wriston’s vehicle. Reports/Washington County ¯ A deputy was dispatched Saturday to Greene Street, Newport Township, to a report of Anthony Hinterlong being on the property threatening to shoot the family. Residents of the home stated they were outside when Hinterlong drove past the house and turned around in the driveway. Hinterlong was told he was not welcome on the property. It was reported that Hinterlong made a gun gesture with his hand and said “I ain’t going to talk,” as he held his finger up, continuing to make threatening remarks.
