¯ A deputy responded Saturday to Newport Township in an attempt to arrest a subject on a felony warrant. A male subject exited a camper and upon seeing law enforcement, retreated back into the camper. The deputy knocked on the door and met with an individual. A man came out of the camper and advised he did not know where the wanted individual was. When asked for date and birth and other personal identifiers, he stated he couldn’t remember and didn’t know, and took a while to advise of his date of birth. Grand Jury indicts 21 defendants

The man who allegedly assaulted a Belpre resident last month was indicted this week by the Washington County Grand Jury. John Lloyd Mace, 40, homeless, was indicted on one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and one count of trespass in a habitation when a person is present or likely to be present, a fourth-degree felony.
