PARKERSBURG – The Parkersburg Utility Board had detectable levels of PFOA, also known as C8, in its treated water when it was tested in August. The concentration of 12 parts per trillion was below the 2016 threshold of 70 parts per trillion, but nonbinding health advisories issued Wednesday by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency pushed the risk threshold to nearly zero. Reports/Marietta ¯ Units responded June 8 to the 400 block of Marion Street in reference to a male subject laying on the sidewalk. Zachary Alexander Nicholas was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest. ¯ Units responded Friday to 602 Cisler Drive in reference to a disturbance. During the investigation, it was determined that one of the subjects, Cameron Sparkman, had an active warrant out of the State of Nebraska with full extradition. Reports/Washington County ¯ A deputy began an investigation June 6 in Muskingum Township in reference to disorderly conduct. ¯ Deputies were dispatched June 6 to 7350 Veto Road, Dunham Township, to a breaking and entering. Witnesses reported that two men were in a gray Chevrolet truck in a garage belonging to the homeowners. The males were observed carrying a floor jack out of the garage, and upon being yelled at, the two men quickly jumped in the truck and fled the area. Most local counties see increased COVID cases

Ohio’s rate of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people slightly decreased in the latest statistics from the Department of Health, but local numbers mostly trended in the opposite direction. The exception was Morgan County, which maintained the fourth-highest rate among Ohio’s 88 counties, with 351.5 new cases per 100,000. With a population of 14,508, that equates to 51 new cases from May 26 to June 8, one less than the preceding period of May 19 to June 1. He was negotiating a right curve on his 2001 Yamaha XV1600A when it overturned onto its left side and slid off the right side of the roadway.
