First Baptist Church of Marietta to host Creation Seminar

Was there a big bang? What happened to dinosaurs? First Baptist Church of Marietta will host a Creation Seminar from Oct. 14 to 17 to address these and other questions about the earth’s creation. Dr. Grady McMurtry from Creation Worldview Ministries, headquartered in Orlando, Florida, will lead the seminar that will begin with the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. services on Sunday, Oct.14. Fall clothing giveaway at Gilman UMC It’s time to start your fall cleaning and bring in those clothes that don’t fit and items you don’t use, want or need – and donate them to the Gilman United Methodist Church “Fall Clothing and More Give-Away and Community Lunch.” Gilman UMW will be hosting its “Fall Clothing and More” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in the church fellowship building. A Fall Sunday School campaign at Twin Rivers Baptist Church, 110 D.A.V. Road, Whipple, kicked off on Sunday, Sept. 23. A balloon launch was held. The Sunday school campaign will continue through Oct. 21. Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday of the campaign with a short opening assembly to be conducted in the church auditorium. Musician McKnight to perform at UU Church

Folk artist Andrew McKnight will present a special music service, “The Gifts in Our Genes,” on Sunday, Sept. 23, at First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta, located on the corners of Third and Putnam streets in Marietta. Awana program at Twin Rivers Baptist Church

The Awana program for 2018-19 at Twin Rivers Baptist Church, 110 D.A.V. Road, Whipple, began Wednesday, Sept. 19, and will continue throughout the school year, ending in May. The opening session for this year’s Awana program will feature special activities, including inflatables, games and pizza. The program for boys and girls will continue each Wednesday through May, with sessions to be held from 7 to 8:20 each week.
