I am writing in support of Greg Nohe in our election for Sheriff of Washington County. Your votes in March are important in the election for our new sheriff. Both candidates are running Republican, both candidates have the experience. However one candidate is heavily supported by a majority of those that have worked in, or around the law enforcement community in our county. Dear Editor, My name is Vera Paxton, I am the 80-year-old mother of Kim Fulton and grandmother of Daniel who were brutally murdered in 1995. With the arrest of a co-conspirator in custody, I am confident Mark Warden will continue to push their case forward. As a Washington County business owner, I have appreciated the steady leadership Kevin Ritter has shown as a County Commissioner. He is able to take in a great deal of information, sift it, and then make a reasoned decision based upon what’s best for the County. He communicates well and I know him to be a man of his word. Greg Nohe has the character needed to be our next Sheriff. He served as a Sergeant in the Military Police with the 18th Airborne Corp. In order to show leadership as an MP, he had to develop specific skills. Some characteristics needed for that position would include self discipline, fairness, good judgment, courage, listening and responding, and teamwork.
