Levity at a funeral

While Mel My late husband and I were attending funeral of a dear friend and Professor. A pleasant surprise lead to wonderful memories. We were gathered at a large church across from a College where the Professor had worked beyond his retirement as Emeritus Professor. The Professor had lived in the area for decades. He had developed many friendships. Both he and his family contributed in so many ways to the community and world at large. As a resident of Washington County, I sometimes can’t appreciate the warmth, hospitality as well as the generosity of our community, until the need arises. That was the case, last Sunday, July 23. I Voted in July

I voted last week. Another strange election. This one in mid-summer. In person voting is August Eighth and I urge everyone to vote early. There will be only one polling place open for the entire city. If you haven’t been paying attention, this is where we are: The maga-publican state legislature realizes that much of its agenda is opposed by the citizens of Ohio. We citizens, by virtue of our state constitution, have the right to overturn their poor decisions. Vote “No” on Ohio Issue 1

The “minority” in Ohio want to tell the rest of us what to do. Vote “No” on Issue 1. The Ohio Republicans have redrawn our congressional districts so that they have a greater voice in our democracy than the Democrats. Issue 1 would give the minority even more power in Ohio.
